Character Name: Dr. Leandra Moorsfield

About your character:
Personality: Leandra has some neurotic tendencies that started when she was embraced and got worse as members of her clan kept dying after meeting her. She usually dresses head to toe, covering all but her face and wearing gloves over her hands. She does not like people to touch her, nor does she particularly care to touch anything dirty or even worse bloody. Leandra uses a spell she adapted to cleanse blood she drinks and rarely if ever drinks from a live person.
All of that said, she is a brilliant doctor, scientist and student of magic. Medicine and her research is her life. She is looking to cure the main plagues of mankind, especially AIDS. While having found a magical way to cure blood, she has yet to be able to translate it into a scientific method that could be used in general public. So she keeps with her studies. She set up a foundation, the Moorsfield foundation, so that she could continue working even after she had been around too long for a mortal life. (Something that she hasn’t gotten close to yet)
However being a vampire, tremere and obsessive compulsive, her interest in medicine also translated into building strong connections and control over the field she lived in. She subtly takes over control of the medical influences in the city she resides so that she will know about outbreaks, trends in medicine and what is happening in hospitals and the such. Such control is quite useful to her as she doesn’t get questioned for her requisitioning of any tainted blood that is found from donations. (Something she can clense before drinking or study, whichever she desires.)
She also has a much less dominate connection in the Occult world. She knows where to go when she needs something and others recognize her as one who doesn’t cause them trouble, but she does not know everything, or even anything close to it, that happens in that world.
Leandra is awkward around people unless discussing her medical theories and work. And people includes other vampires, creatures or anyone really. She is dedicated to her research but that doesn’t mean she is particularly kind or caring about regular humans. It is just her passion, her work that drives her.

Background/History:
Leandra Moorsfield was raised by her father who was a cult leader. She was home schooled by him for most all of her life, not learning most of the cultural things most girls, or children even, her age would know. She was raised to believe in magic and indeed her father actually did have a small talent in that direction. Her talents were more focused on logical thought, however, and what new things she was intrigued by when she could observe the world outside. She found her love in science and eventually medicine. So she left to go to college and become a doctor, her goal to research blood diseases and try to find cures.

Little did she know that both her and her father had been chosen for their abilities and interests by the vampire clan Tremere. Each of them had been chosen and approved to be embraced by two separate sires, who happened to be bitter rivals. Vintrazi was set to embrace her father and had been cultivating the man for some time. However, he also saw the potential to steal another shining prize for himself. He convinced her father to write Leandra and have her come home for a visit. His plan was to force a situation where he would have to embrace her himself lest she be lost to the clan. Her own sire found out and decided he would turn the tables and steal both of them for himself. Things did not work out how either man planned though.

Leandra in a furious blood frenzy after her embrace killed her own father. Upon realizing what she had done she went into another mad frenzy. It took all her sire’s power to hold her and bind her memories away, covering them over with a myth that she could handle. Yes, her father was dead, but by his own hand and not hers. Though it still left her with some neurotic obsessions with germs and cleanliness. Vintrazi blamed them both for losing his childe before he could embrace him, and Leandra was an easier target than her sire. So her time in the clan was difficult.

Eventually she was sent after her accounting to a city with a well known elder Brujah witch hunter, Kinross, in it. Tremere didn’t tend to last very long in that city. The clan suspected Kinross of knowing Thaumaturgy and it was her task to determine if that was true. Her first night upon arriving, indeed not even an hour after doing so, she was forced to watch as another Tremere was executed for breaking traditions. The questioning of her afterwards began her tightrope walk of being a loyal Tremere and a living resident of the city. Slowly she actually gained the respect of the city and even it’s prince Kinross, gaining a place in the court as an investigative sherriff.

Another strange occurrence began to happen that the clan took note of. Every Tremere Leandra ever met ended up dying. Ones who came to live to the city, ones who mearly visited, ones she met in other cities. Unknown to her even her own sire perished. Some believed she was responsible but an investigation proved that wrong. So then came the whispers of a curse. She was cursed. But she was also valuable. Too valuable to kill. Even without discovering any hidden thaumaturgy in Kinross’ hands, she had brought many new inventions and benefits to the clan. Just so long as she didn’t meet any Tremere. Desiring to place other Tremere in the current city she was in and suspecting her loyalty to the clan might be wavering in favor of connections she was making, they decided to send her to a new city.

For Both OC/FC:
Other than an actual medical degree, she has indepth knowledge of her field studying diseases of the blood.
She can heighten her senses, look at people’s aura’s, sense the residual energies and impressions on an object. To some people she can give simple mental commands or cause people to forget up to 15 minutes of time if she can overcome their own mental will.
Her study of blood magic means with someone’s blood she can hold some small measure of control over that person, tell some information about them by examining the blood (one bit of information per portion of blood), or cause someone’s blood to boil if she touches them.
Other magical abilities include pulling up an obscuring fog, casting a ritual so that if someone attempts to stake her it fails as the stake dissolves (has to be recast again to protect after the first stake), purify impurities and diseases from the blood of a person and protect herself from supernatural charismatic attempts on her (known as Presence discipline in game) reflecting it on her attacker (Like with the stake ritual, must be recast after such an attempt is made to regain the protection)
